Check this page often for updated listings of all types of cycling events in and around our area. Rides require, at minimum, an appropriate bike in good working order, water, and a helmet. We suggest a spare tube, energy food, maybe a little cash in case we stop, and your biggest smile! Many rides are held subject to weather. It's a good idea to confirm dates, time and any specific requirements, too. We'll see you out there — and have fun!

|Second Saturday||10:00 a.m.||Every Second Saturday, Family Friendly, Slow Ride. Total mileage is 10 miles. Ride starts at 10 am and end around 12pm. The ride starts at 1314 W. Union Street at N. Myrtle Ave., one block from Engine 15 Brewery. There will be a brief bicycle safety discussion prior to heading out on the trail. Be prepared, bring a repair kit for flats, water bottle, lock and appropriate attire for a great ride. We ride at a social pace, and welcome riders of all ages and experience levels. The trail is approximately 5 miles long from end to end, feel free to ride all of it with us or turn around as you wish. We often meet-up for lunch afterwards, at a local park or cafe. It’s not a race, but rather a leisurely trek along scenic back country roads with minimal traffic. It is an opportunity to join other cyclists on an educational, social and recreational tour of North Carolina. The twentieth annual tour is an experience that will encompass all of the unmatched beauty of North Carolina from the “Mountains to Coast.” This year’s tour will begin in the mountains of Black Mountain and finish on the sandy beaches of Oak Island. Overnight stops will include Morganton, Mooresville, Archdale, Southern Pines, Dunn and Elizabethtown. Temporary base camps in each overnight community will be available for those wishing to indoor and/or outdoor camp. We’re setting up camp in Tillamook State Forest and giving riders a variety of heart-pumping, pedal-churning routes to choose from daily. Gravel riders will have the whole Cycle Oregon experience – tents, showers, route support, main stage, beer garden – only this time, we’re going to be a lot more up close and personal with nature. Feel the calm of the forest as you crank through the firs and ferns, spruce and salal. See the abandoned rails and trestles that will someday be the Salmonberry Trail, connecting the Valley to the Coast. There are multiple one and two day route options ranging from 36 to 160 miles, all of which are well supported with fully-stocked rest stops, a lunch stop each day and safety provided by medical personnel, HAM radio operators, law enforcement and motorcycle escorts.
